The Haldon Belvedere an 18th century turreted folly (also known as Lawrence Castle) is located in a solitary position on top of a ridge to the west of Exeter. It is out of the way but close to the villages below the ridge and offers a chance to get away from it all without being too remote. The castle is on the edge of Haldon Forest which offers extensive access to the surrounding countryside.

The fully self contained apartment which is on the second floor is accessible via the Lawrence Room and the cantilevered spiral stone staircase with wrought balustrades and mahogany handrail. Leading from the main living area which sleeps 2 with its lofty ceiling and Georgian gothic detailed doors and windows, there is a separate bathroom with bath and shower, and a fully fitted kitchen, which are built into the two turrets.

"We had such an amazing stay - the views were utterly enchanting and the apartment was perfect. We spent the first night listening to the wind and the rain of Storm Katie and the second day watching sunshine, rainbows and finally stars. It's such a unique and special place to spend a couple of nights ".

 Jules, Stratford upon Avon

"This is what I call a room with a view; breathtaking whichever way you look. Being on the roof makes it even more spectacular. You can’t help but be touched by the beautiful Devon landscape".
