The Haldon Belvedere is in private ownership. When functions are not taking place the Trust allows the public some access to the grounds.  However access to the grounds is strictly prohibited when wedding ceremonies and functions are underway. Please obey the no entry signs when in place.

When walking in the grounds - dogs must be kept under close control to prevent the wildlife from being disturbed. When functions are not underway visitors may use the picnic tables which are found near the castle but please take your litter home as we are all custodians of our heritage.

Access & parking – a private car park for the use of functions is located within the grounds but coaches will have to use the public parking splay at the entrance gateway. Vehicle access to the drive is restricted to the disabled, elderly or infirm to be dropped off for functions. The private car park is only available for the duration of functions and double parking will occur.  The car park is locked at all other times and immediately after a function.

Disability access to the ground floor is available through double doors, but the upper floor will be difficult to access because of the historic, listed spiral staircase. Some surfaces (particularly the roof terrace) may be uneven and slippery which can be a trip hazard.

The roof terrace may have to be closed in bad weather conditions and no unaccompanied children are permitted on the roof at any time.

The Haldon Belvedere is closed to the public at all other times but is available for civil marriages, private lunches, anniversary celebrations, baby naming ceremonies, meetings and small corporate events.

The fully self contained second floor apartment is available for short term self catering lets and is popular with those seeking somewhere special to stay or looking for a unique setting to celebrate an anniversary, a birthday celebrations, Christmas or just to get away from it all.

VOLUNTEERS  - we are seeking volunteer stewards to help during summer Sunday afternoons to open the Haldon Belvedere to visitors for 3 hours.  Full training is given.
