The grounds are free and open to the public at anytime. However access to the upper lawn will be restricted when wedding ceremonies are underway - please ensure you comply with the access restrictions.

When walking in the grounds dogs must be kept under close control to prevent the wildlife from being disturbed.

Visitors are welcome to use the picnic tables which are found near the castle and we would ask you take your litter home with you as we are all custodians of our heritage.

Access & parking – a private car park is located within the grounds but coaches will have to use the public parking splay at the entrance gateway. Vehicle access to the drive is restricted to the disabled, elderly or infirm.

Disability access to the ground floor is available, but the upper floors may be difficult to access because of the spiral staircase. Some surfaces (particularly the roof terrace) may be uneven and slippery which can be a trip hazard.

The roof terrace may have to be closed in bad weather conditions and no unaccompanied children are permitted on the roof at any time.

The Castle is closed to the public at all other times but is available for civil marriages, private lunches, anniversary celebrations, baby naming ceremonies, meetings and small corporate events.

The fully self contained second floor apartment is available for short term self catering lets and is popular with those seeking somewhere special to stay or looking for a unique setting to celebrate an anniversary, a birthday celebrations, Christmas or just to get away from it all.

VOLUNTEERS  - we are seeking volunteer stewards to help during summer Sunday afternoons to open the Haldon Belvedere to visitors for 3 hours.  Full training is given.
